PTA in Process to Check Rollout Obligations of 3G, 4G Licensees


ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is in the process of verifying deployment requirements of next generation mobile services (NGMS) licensees exercise should be completed soon.

If necessary, action should be taken against companies based on the results of inspections of rollout obligations. Official sources said Thursday that the Authority also conducted inspection Start of four cellular mobile operators (CMOs) who won 3G / 4G spectrum auction and allocated NGMS licenses last year.

The sources said that the inspection focused to check the readiness of operators for the commercial launch of 3G and 4G services. Network Architecture, Network Roll Out, Foot Print coverage, throughput and signal strength were also checked and found satisfactory, fulfill the conditions to launch 3G and 4G services.

As a result, they said that PTA has issued provisional licenses added to the beginning and now the quality of service (QoS) is considered satisfactory. They said that pursuant first phase of the duty Network Roll Out, the licensee within nine (09) months from the date of the license because NGMS provide at least 20 percent coverage existing sites or cover 20 percent of the city's coverage area (which is growing) in the four capitals of the provinces and the federal capital.
